I'm trying to install the AV server on Windows 7, but it's having problems with Java.
I already have the latest version of Java installed. When I run the air video server, it gives me a message telling me it's going to install it.
After going through the Java installer (which completes successfully), I get a message
"Invalid command line argument. Consult the Windows Installer SDK for detailed command line help."

After this, Air Video gives me the error :
ERROR #15: Failure locating a Java Runtime Environment after trying to install Java
PROBLEM: An error occurred with your current Java Runtime Environment
SOLUTION: Reinstall the Java Runtime Environment for 'Air Video Server' and try again
You will be redirected to Sun's Java web site:
http://www.java.com
where you should install the latest Java Runtime.

Even after following it's instructions, I get the same problem.

I've tried running as Administrator to no avail. I've got all the latest Windows updates.
If it makes any difference, I'm on a 64bit system.

Is there anything I can run that will fix this?

Have you tried installing the 32bit JRE manually from

http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp

You must have google Chrome installed and as your standard browser. And then open Air video and then install and wait for it to fail. And download Java through chrome.
Hope it helps you.

Why would you need to have chrome installed?

I have no idea but it was the only way that worked for me. I tried Opera and Internet Explorer.

Hi there,

meanwhile I have to same problem. Don't know exactly why now. I run windows 7 and I also installed the runtime version 7 update 11 from java but only the 64bit version. The 32bit version which is obvious the version AirVideo wants, I can't install. I downloaded the jre-7u11-windows-i586 but I can't get both versions installed. I read somewhere at java that i could be necessary that I have to install both but I can't..

I also used chrome as my standard browser like here mentioned before but that doesn't work either. Any new ideas?!

regards,

Hi,

what issues do you have during the installation? 32bit and 64 bit JREs can be installed side by side without any conflicts.

i can't install the 32 bit version. I always get an error during the installation.

And it looks that air video needs that 32bit version. It's looks that this problem exists with the latest java update. Three weeks ago, everything was fine.
