Air Video Server 2.4.5-beta5 released

I'm pleased to announce that new Air Video Server version is available.

You can download it for Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows.

Changes since last stable release
- Better performance on multi-core machines
- Significantly faster buffering and seeking times (for best performance make sure only one bitrate is selected on client)
- WTV format support (preliminary, might not work with all files)
- Support for AirPlay and high quality 5120kbit/s bitrate (requires client update, currently pending approval)

Changes since beta3
- Fixed playback for files with certain aspect ratios
- Fixed playback for certain files that didn't play at all
- WTV improvements (support still preliminary, beware)
Changes since beta4
- Fixed playback of files with 5 and 6 channel AAC audio

My errors previously reported in the beta4 thread has been corrected in this release.

The problem with thumbnail generation and invalid files also seems to have been fixed, thanks!

I still am experiencing inappropriate display of subtitles in some mkv's when I've disabled them in the server. The only way to turn them off is to manually do it in the client for each video.

I am getting message - Air Play cannot play video on Apple TV.

Apple TV is with 4.2.1.
iPhone 4 with 4.3 GM

Please let me know if anyone experienced the same.

ATV needs to be 4.3 (I think). Will be out on Friday or you can beta now if you're resourceful.

New Zealand Freeview (DVB-T HD) WTV recordings stream to the iPad with no problems (for all channels)!! Well done!

Those in the assigned folders are OK.

Yes, I can load 4.3 for ATV2G, however, it wasn't in the requirements, therefore, I left it in 4.2.1 state by my other reasons without hesitation.

Also, 4.3 for ATV2G is still in Beta stage, not GM and I don't think it will be released as 4.3 on March 11 together with iOS updates for iPad and iPhone.

I just upgraded to ATV 4.3 beta 3 and updated my iPhone to 4.3GM along with the AirVideo app and server to the latest releases. I'm getting pretty spotty playback support to my ATV. The first couple videos have audio only (with video still on the iphone), then I rebooted the ATV and got a single video to stream to my TV. I've tried about dozen video files (wide array of codecs) and couldn't get anything except a black picture and audio only on the TV. I tried looking for logs in the AirVideo server app, but couldn't find anything useful in the logs.

Where can I download the 2.4.5 beta5?

I had the same issue when my ATV was on 4.2.1, now i flashed 4.3b3 and it works just fine.

The only issue remaining is, that sometimes the streaming of mkv files hangs (almost every 2:30 minutes).

Any ideas?
